The three “Phototeers” took a trip up to Smithville, TN to visit Carmac Falls. This is a majestic 90 ft. tall waterfall that is just flat out beautiful to behold.
It is well worth the time and effort to get permission to hike to the falls since it is on private property and if you don’t have a permit to go to the falls, you can and will be arrested and charged with trespassing. So, do not think they won’t have you arrested if you are caught.
This 90-foot cascade is the 10th highest waterfall in the state and is located just a short distance from the main lodge at the Evins Mill Resort. Located near the town of Smithville and Interstate 40, Evins Mill offers a lodge, fine dining, and spectacular views.
While it's a short hike to the 90-foot Carmac Falls, it is important to note that Carmac Falls is located on the private property of Evins Mill, a resort and special event venue that hosts weddings, conferences, and other contractually exclusive events. As such, one must be a guest of the resort to access its property and enjoy its trails, including the one to Carmac Falls.
For those who wish to do so without staying overnight, the venue offers day-tripper packages that are available by reservation-only, requiring a minimum of 24-hours in advance. For more details, you may call 615.269.3740.
The current cost for a Day Tripper Pass is $25 per guest and includes a sack lunch that is fairly decent. The sack lunch is prepared by the on-site restaurant’s kitchen and contains a sandwich (choice of turkey, ham, roast beef, tuna, or veggie), chips, side du jour, fresh fruit, granola bar, cookies, and a bottle of water.
So, check out their website Evinsmill.com and make plans to go see it for yourself.
