The three "Phototeers" rolled out early and met up in Soddy Daisy to head to the University of Tennessee Botanical Gardens in Knoxville, TN.
We went up US-27 Highway and then turned on US-68 heading east to Watts Bar Dam. I had recently seen some images of the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant cooling towers at night and wanted to get the shots to add to my image collection.
It was still very dark and very early when we got set up to shoot. Once we got our gear ready, we went in different directions and each of us started capturing the color under a pre-dawn sky.
After about an hour of shooting and having a blast, we stored our gear and headed on toward Knoxville and the Botanical Gardens. We arrived at about 9:00 am and again broke our gear out and headed toward the entrance.
And now a plug for UT Botanical Gardens, these gardens are FREE to access, view, and take pictures of the flowers and trees. Thank you, University of Tennessee for this privilege.
